Whether you love being on the tools or might one day want to grow into quoting, there’s a place for you at Good Hands Plumbing & Drains.
We’re a Marrickville-based, family-run business known for integrity, teamwork, and quality work that lasts. Here, you’ll have steady, well-planned days, a supportive crew, and leadership that believes in doing things properly, not rushing through chaos.
You’ll work on varied, high-quality installs across Sydney’s Inner West: drainage repairs, gas lines, bathroom fit-offs, hot water systems, and more. You’ll have the tools, systems, and time to do it right.
You’re good at what you do - but you might be feeling:
Frustrated by disorganisation. Always rushing, never set up properly.
Tired of being treated like a number instead of a tradesman who cares.
Keen for stability. No random Saturdays or last-minute chaos.
Over the cowboys. Sick of seeing shortcuts and dodgy work passed off as “good enough.”
Proud of your craft. You just want a team and boss who value that too.
If this sounds like you, you’ll fit right in at here,
Cert III in Plumbing (or close to finishing it)
Residential maintenance experience or strong practical skills
Manual driver's licence and White Card
Comfortable working independently and talking with customers
We’re not a frantic, on-call company - but we’re not slow either. At Good Hands, the day runs smoothly because we plan ahead, stay flexible, and keep communication clear.
Well-organised jobs. Clear scopes, quality materials, and an office team that keeps things flowing.
Predictable hours. No on-call, no emergency weekends, just the occasional shuffle when a big job lands.
Calm, respectful team. No yelling, no chaos, just professionals doing good work for good people.
Variety every week. Drain repairs, gas installs, bathroom fit-offs, reroutes, roof work so you’ll never be bored.
Optional growth. If you ever want to step into quoting or leadership, we’ll help you make it happen.

At Good Hands, we back our tradies to do quality work, and we set you up so you actually can.

We’re after plumbers who take pride in doing things right, the kind of person who’d rather get it done properly than rush it out the door
You’ll fit in well if you:
Hold a Cert III in Plumbing (or are close to finishing it)
Have residential maintenance experience or strong practical skills
Carry a manual driver’s licence and White Card
Can work independently, problem-solve, and manage your own time
Are comfortable talking with customers and take pride in your presentation
See mistakes as learning opportunities, not failures
Value teamwork, communication, and steady, high-quality work

And most importantly:
You want to get better every week, not just go through the motions
You care about doing the job right, even when it’s hard or messy
You’re looking for a long-term home where you’ll be respected and supported
1
You’ll head straight to your first job in your take-home truck, iPad in hand. Pop into HQ for a coffee or a quick catch-up if you feel like it — no pressure either way.
2
Most days you’ll kick off on-site and wrap up around 4:30 PM. Some jobs run the full day, others are two or three smaller ones. We plan it so you’ve got the time to do things properly.
3
When a big job or last-minute repair lands, we regroup fast and back each other up. The office team keeps communication clear so you can focus on doing great work.
4
Finish your last job, send through your notes, and head home knowing there’s no on-call or constant Saturdays. A bit of overtime happens most weeks, but it’s never crazy — we keep things calm and steady.

“ Recently I had to go away on a Friday, and on Thursday I was on a job that ran long with bad weather coming in. The boys came in and worked until seven at night—on my job—so I could make my trip. No complaints, just straight in to help. That’s common here: if someone’s stuck and you’re free, you jump in. ”
Aidan
No builders, no property managers, no chaos. Just homeowners who appreciate quality.
You’ll have the time, tools, and support to do the job properly, not rush it out the door.
Predictable hours, clear planning, and overtime that’s reasonable, not relentless.
iPads, software, and communication that actually help you, not slow you down.
You’re left to do your job without being micromanaged, but backed when you need support.
No egos, no shouting, just good people doing great work together.
